GRIZZLY BEAR BAND
The purpose of this brief was to expand on a skill that interested us, I chose to practice my Flash skills and built the whole site in Flash. I chose one of my favourite bands Grizzly Bear as the subject.
I was influenced by the band’s videos which often have quite a weird, almost unnerving aesthetic, so I tried to achieve this effect using a few different subtle animations throughout the site.

STRANGE NEWS
This brief required us to create a fully content managed site for a "real life" client, I created this site for a local alternative music promoter who brings international artists to New Zealand.
The purpose of the site is so he can have a place to announce up and coming gigs (and whatever other subjects he chooses to blog about) through the blog, and also keep an archive of previous shows he's put on in the past shows section. The client wanted a design that was fun and interesting and didn't take itself too seriously.

NZ ESCAPE
For this project we were put into groups, we were to design and build a fully editable travel package site. I was selected sole designer of my group and was in charge of all aspects of design from coming up with the branding and the logo to creating Flash advertisements.
I created a colourful and interesting design to target a wide range of travellers and make the sometimes complicated booking process a bit more appealing. I used blues, greens and earth tones to mimic the natural tones of New zealand's landscape.

STEPHANIE HOMA
For this brief we were to create a site for an artist whos work we admire. I chose the Illustrator Stephanie Homa because I find her style interesting and thought it would be fun to incorporate some of the characters of her illustration in to the site.
All the text fields in the site, and the image galleries are completely content manageable through Wordpress.

BIG DAY OUT
This was the first website I created. The brief was to design and create the website for the 2010 Big Day Out music festival. The theme and design changes from year to year so we had to come up with a brand new logo and design concept.
The Big Day Out audience is generally quite young so I went for a lighthearted and colourful jungle theme, the concept being that the animals represent the bands and artists "invading" Auckland city for a day.
